His sharp eyes scanned the rest of the sculpture for any other things Elsa may have missed, only to find that rest of her was done perfectly. “Would you like to dance with me?” He asked, offering his hand out to her as nerves began to pile up in his stomach, though he didn’t go through the painfully embarrassing dance lessons from the trolls for nothing.
“Hm– why I’d love to.”
Anna smiled warmly towards the mountain man and took her small, frail hand into his larger ones. She found it pleasantly surprising when he was able to guide and dance her gracefully thorough the dance floor.
{❆} —— “Then it’s yours. If you hadn’t noticed, I’m not one for our normal attire.”
Elsa admired her sister before sauntering over to the full-length mirror, her hands smoothing the light creases in her dress. She was wearing a soft, cotton dress that she reserved for formal dinners, of course she had added her own icy touch to it. Briefly looking from the mirror as her sister called out, Elsa’s eyes narrowed. “They better not be the new one’s, Anna..”
Anna paused in putting on the shoes, head turning in order to face towards her sister. “Oh– come on Elsa, all of my shoes are ruined or worn– and they match!” She finished slipping on the shoes and gestured to them with a sheepish grin to emphasize her point. “See? Pretty, right? Just let me wear them tonight, please?” The freckled princess kept on flashing that sheepish smile.
—annnnd one more, now he was right in front of her, possibly a little too close for comfort.
he leaned in, close enough to see the freckles on her face, making sure to keep the whole dangerous thug act going.
“—— make me.”
Oh, god. What has she gotten herself into?
She should’ve called the guards a looong time ago.
The wide-eyed princess was rooted in her spot, breath hitching as he neared closer and closer to her tiny, slim frame. Too close for comfort indeed. Way too close.
Anna’s eyes looked left and right in panic, searching for someone– anyone who could help her in this frightening situation. Being inches away from a thuggish thief wasn’t all that calming. She looked, and there was no one. Not even a guard. So, she did the first thing that popped into her mind. She pinched her eyes shut, grabbed the collar of his vest–
“….F-fine then, I will–!”
–and reeled her arm back, giving him a swift, hard punch to the jaw.
{ ♚ }; “Ah, you know, I don’t exactly go around and swing my sword left and right. That’s rather… stupid, don’t you think?” He shook his head. Poor Anna. Looks like nothing changed since Prince’s last visit. “No, I’m simply waiting for my ship in this fine Kingdom of yours. Looks like our meeting is doomed to be short, which is downright tragic if you ask me.”
“Well, should’ve thought it was stupid before then, huh?”
At the fact that he would leaving soon, the corners of Anna’s mouth turned up ever so slightly. “Huh…looks like it is, isn’t it? As tragic as you say it is, Hans, I couldn’t be happier. So– were will you be staying until it does get here then, hm? A ratty old inn? One of the stables?” She rose her eyebrows and folded her arms across her chest.
“Anna.” Elsa looked at her sternly, attempting to stop her sister from going further with her charade. It went without saying that the Queen was not convinced.
She sighed, her hard gaze falling with it, replaced with a concerned one. “Come now, let me see that arm.”
At the stern call of her name, Anna immediately dropped the act and frowned in pain and embarrassment. She used her good arm to gingerly caress the other, wincing slightly as she raised it so Elsa could carefully examine it better.
He straightened his posture, towering over her quite a bit. Her threat was a little weak in the punch, something told him she didn’t have much background in dealing with thugs and thiefs.
“You’ll.. what?”
“I’ll– make you regret it! U-um…”
As Anna’s arm lowered, a slow realization hit her. He was taller, stronger, and probably wouldn’t mind hurting her– princess or not. Her teal blue eyes were widened and shed of all the fire and confidence they once contained.
Elsa averted her head from Anna briefly, the noises of her clothing clattering and most likely falling onto the floor as her sister rummaged in the closet. “Please don’t make a mess.” She scolded lightly before Anna reemerged from the closet. Elsa’s face lit up, taking a step backward to look at her sister fully as she smiled. “You look beautiful. Matches your eyes too.”
“Ah, thanks! I love this one. I can’t believe you don’t wear it much!”
Anna grinned and did a small twirl, dress fluttering. Now, all she needed were shoes. She tapped her chin as her eyes scanned the room. There were plenty of shoes that could match her dress, but they just didn’t fit well enough. Soon she gasped lightly at the sight of one she’s never seen before, new more likely, and leaned over to grab them immediately.
“Oh–! Uh– I hope you don’t mind me borrowing one of your shoes too!” She called out as she slipped one foot into a heel.
“—came in through the front door, obviously.” that sounded believable. though his eyes were trained on her, they occasionally flashed to the item on display. now how was he supposed to achieve what he came here to do? he’d have to get rid of this girl.
“Hey, I’m actually kind of hungry. How about you go and get me an apple or two, and then we’ll continue this talk.”
“‘Through the door’ my foot…”
Why would he break into the castle? He was a thief, more likely than anything. A skilled thief if he managed to get though those guards at the front gates. Anna opened her mouth to call for the guards, but stopped, eyes wide with offense.
“Excuse me? Did you– who exactly do you think you are, sir?” Anna wrinkled her nose and stepped up to the stranger, jabbing him in the chest with one slim finger.
“Listen, either you leave right now or I’ll– I’ll–”
